Sports Injury & Remedial Massage is a specialist form of massage treatment often used by sports people to prevent or relieve injuries sustained through strenuous activity.
The treatment involves the attention to individual muscles or joints causing pain. Frequently pain is transferred from the point of injury or distress to other parts of the body. The sports massage therapist will treat the central cause of the transmitted pain by attention to that particular aspect of the body.
The treatment may be concentrated in a particular area although a more general massage using the same techniques can be effective, along with an exercise programme for long term pain such as hamstring strains and lower back problems.
